The fact that people would actually pay money to see this garbage is beyond me. Maybe the worst thing about it is that this kid’s movie (which very well may have been made by 5-year-olds themselves) is gaining such a huge following with teenagers and college kids. I get it–life and school are stressful, so we use tv and film for escapism. But when I want to get away, I watch The Godfather. How could I compare my trivial life problems to those of Michael Corleone?! HSM isn’t riveting or enticing, you watch the whole thing just feeling embarrassed for the characters. You don’t escape from your life, you simply watch people making fools of themselves for an hour and a half. I know, not all films can be The Godfather, but there’s gotta be a better way to spend your time (and money) than watching “The Zef” knock down three’s for the Wildcats.
