This doesn’t seem like a film the Oscars usually go for, but I’d say DiCaprio would be a shoo-in for Best Actor. And Scorsese’s direction was good as always here, so I’d think he’d have a shot too.
Even though the film came out so early in the year I wouldn’t leave it out for the Oscars next year. Usually, only films that come in Oct-Dec ever get the Oscar. Then again, “Silence of the Lambs” was released in a February and that won 5 Oscars (including Best Picture).

As soon as it was out I began waiting for your review. (You may not know but I follow your blog with some consistency). Great review! My question to you is, had it come out in time for awards season, do you see DiCaprio, Scorssesee (Sp?), or the film being nominated and/ or winning their respective categories?
